Celebrating 69 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Syria and on the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the independence of Indonesia, the Embassy of Indonesia in Damascus held an activity for the revival of the Indonesian Syrian Friendship Park at Al-Dimas in Rural Damascus. The park was first opened in the year 1988 and had been under protection until the year 1996.

On this occasion, HE the Indonesian Ambassador and the Governor of Rural Damascus Province signed the inauguration statue and laid two plants which resemble the close friendship between Indonesia and Syria. Guests also participated in planting.
