The Western Gate of Jupiter Temple

Al-Hamidiya, Opposite the Western Gate of the Umayyad Mosque, Damascus, Syria
What remains of Jupiter Temple’s Western Gate, which is known today as Bab Al-Barid, is still a sight to behold.

The gate is a triple Roman doorway ascribed to the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus. The colonnade gallery behind the gate was added at a later Roman Period.
