The Mamluk Prince Seif Eddine Jaqmaq built this Islamic school at the turn of the 15th century. The school houses the tombs of the Prince and his mother.

Today, Al-Madrasa Al-Jaqmaqiya hosts the Museum for Arabic Calligraphy.
