Muawiya's Mausoleum

Al-Qaymariya, Al-Nakkashat Street, Damascus, Syria
This mausoleum was built during the Ayyubid Period around what is believed to be the burial place of Caliph Muawiya Bin Abi Sufyan, the founder of the Umayyad Empire.

Nevertheless, there are many who believe that the real resting place of the Umayyad Caliph is at another shrine in Bab Al-Saghir Cemetery.
Historical Periods: Ayyubids, Umayyads
