Sayedat Al-Neyyah Cathedral

This Cathedral was rebuilt in 1863 during the Ottoman Period after it sustained heavy damage in the Events of 1860.

The structure of the Cathedral was originally built as a synagogue belonging to the Karaite Jewish Community in Damascus who sold it to the Greek Catholic Church in the early 19th century.

Today, the Cathedral is the seat of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church in the Orient.
