The Ayyubid Prince Fakhr Eddine Jahareks, the commander of Salah Eddine’s army, built this Islamic school in the 13th century.

The Prince died after a crucial battle with the Crusaders and his body is laid to rest at the school.

Al-Madrasa Al-Jahareksiya is located in the Salihiya Quarter.
