King Faisal Street

This Street was cut through a part of Damascus Old City that is located outside the City Wall in the early part of the 20th century.

It is named after King Faisal who was declared King of Syria in 1920 upon liberation from the Ottomans and just before the start of the French Mandate.

Many monuments from various periods can be seen on this Street.
