King Faisal Street

This street was cut in the early part of the 20th century through a part of Damascus Old City that is located outside the Old City Wall.

It is named after Faisal Bin Al-Hussein who was declared King of Syria in 1920 by the British after defeating the Ottomans and before the start of the French Mandate.

Many monuments from various periods can be seen on King Faisal Street.
