Making History from Damascus

Saint Ananias is an early Syrian Christian who is best known for healing Saint Paul the Apostle and converting him to Christianity.

He lived in Damascus during the 1st century at the house that is known today as Saint Ananias Chapel.

This icon of Saint Ananias is on display in a very charming old church named after the Saint and built in pure Damascene architectural style. The church is situated in the Midan Quarter and is one of the oldest churches in Damascus.
